Lasith Malinga has taken his 2nd world cup hat trick in successive World Cups. The 27 year old slinga rattled the Kenyan lower order, taking 5 wickets in 11 balls including a hat trick. Malinga trapped Tanmay Mishra off the last ball of his 8th over then bowled both Peter Ongondo and Shem Ngoche with the first two balls of his ninth. The Kenyans had slumped from a half decent 5-128 to a dismal 142 all out. Bowling unplayable in-swinging yorkers, Malinga has figures of 7.4-0-6-34.

In a hat-trick double header Kemar Roach took the 7th World Cup hat-trick of all time. Roach took wicket on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd balls of his 9th over. He trapped Seelaar and Loots LBW in successive balls, then knocked Westdijk’s middle stump to complete his hat-trick. He ended up taking 8.3-0-6-27 as the West Indies rolled the Netherlands by 215 runs.
