As you may know, in the new 2011/12 big bash season there will be 8 teams from different capital city’s. Cricket Australia are deciding whether to use some new rules. I did a survey which you can find here asking if i agreed with these rules.most were pretty good but i found a few contravercial ones.
The first one was that if a player hits a six and a crowd member catches it he/she can keep the ball. I disagreed with this rule because i thought it would give pace bowlers an advantage. A spinner could get smashed and then have to bowl with a shiney new ball that wont grip, while a pace bowler gets a new ball that will swing for him.
The second rule was that the 12th man could bat and the bowling team would need 11 wickets to bowl them out. I was also agains this because i think the basic rules of cricket should not be tampered with, even in T20.
